Bovine TB network of African researcher leaders was established with a goal to strengthen research capacity and promote collaborative approaches to addressing health challenges at the human-animal-environment interface. This network aggregated more researchers and institutions to establish the Afrique One consortium funded by the Wellcome Trust from 2009.

Afrique One was a pioneering Pan-African One Health initiative aimed at transforming health research and practice in Africa.
