The Centre Suisse de Recherches Scientifiques en Côte d’Ivoire (CSRS) in collaboration with Afrique One-REACH organized from May 27 to 31, 2024 its “Learning Package” training course. The Learning Package is a set of various training modules. It aims to provide young scientists with the epistemological, ethical and practical tools they need to compete and excel internationally. Learning Package modules can be delivered in full or on an à la carte basis, depending on the specific needs of individual institutions.

Over the course of 5 days, 31 early-career researchers were trained in the design, technical and financial management of research projects, qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis, transdisciplinary research, bibliographic management and science communication.

At the end of the course, the participants each received a certificate from the Deputy Director of CSRS, Dr Daouda Dao. He thanked Afrique One and congratulated the trainers and participants. “Our thanks go to our partner Afrique One, headed by Professor Bassirou Bonfoh, the main sponsor of this initiative, represented by Dr Aurélie Cailleau, in charge of training coordination at Afrique One, to Dr Kanny Diallo of the CSRS Capacity building unit, to all the trainers (heads of departments, units and researchers), and finally to the learners for their diligence and concentration. The challenge for us at CSRS is to make the Learning Package a stable program over the next few years, and to have it recognized by our universities. I’m convinced that this training will be very useful to you”.

For Dr Madina Doumbia of Péléforo Gon Coulibaly University, a participant, “This training has shed light on our problems and filled in our gaps. After this training, we can only hope for good results in the years to come”.
